What is the HeartBeats Information Table? |
| |
|
|
The HeartBeats Information Table is your first stop after signing up for a group that includes fees and or materials or if you have questions relating to small groups. We will assist you with fee payment slips, scholarship applications, and availability of materials. Childcare payments will also be accepted here. The table will be set up next to the Bookstore during sign-up Sundays.

How do I sign up? |

|
|
Sign-up Sundays are held at Joy Christian Center several weeks prior to the beginning of a new HeartBeats quarter. During this time, tables with sign-up sheets and displays about each group will be set up in the Foyer and the Link, giving you the opportunity to sign up before and after services. You may also e-mail us at heartbeats@greatjoy.org. Group sizes are limited and may fill up quickly, so we encourage you to sign up as soon as possible! If you have questions about any particular group, feel free to call the leader.

How do I get my books / materials? |
| |
|
|
Each group member is responsible for purchasing his/her own books or materials at JCC’s Bookstore on Sunday mornings. Contact your group leader if this is not possible for you. Materials are ordered based on sign-ups and will generally be available on the Sunday groups begin; however, some may be available sooner. Please stop at the HeartBeats Information Table before going to the Bookstore to get information about books and materials for all the groups.

What if my group requires a fee? |
| |
|
|
Several groups require a fee for related materials or services. Fees are payable at JCC’s Bookstore on sign-up Sundays (stop at the HeartBeats Information Table before going to the Bookstore) or by mail - see page 28. Your fee must be paid prior to signing up for the group. Please check the individual group listings in the directory or the sign-up sheet for specific instructions related to these fees.

What if I can’t afford the cost of a group? |
| |
|
|
If you are unable to be involved in a HeartBeats group because of the cost, a scholarship may be available. To apply for a scholarship, please complete the scholarship form available on Sunday mornings at the HeartBeats Information Table next to the Bookstore.

I’m interested in a group not offered |
| |
|
|
You may either start a group of your interest (see How do I start a group? listed below), or you may contact the office to let us know what kind of small group you would like to see offered. We really do welcome your input and will do our best to make the groups available that people are interested in. Be sure to check out the HeartBeats directory at the beginning of each new quarter. It may have just what you’re looking for!

Can I visit a group or bring a friend? |
| |
|
|
If you are unsure if a specific group is for you, call the leader and let him/her know you would like to visit or bring a friend. However, because of the subject and nature of some groups, the timing of visitors may not be appropriate. Please call the leader ahead of time to be sure a visit will be okay and the leader will be prepared to accommodate additional people.

How do I start a group? |

Start by getting involved in a current group and experience what HeartBeats is all about. If you would like more information about being a group leader, please contact our HeartBeats Director, Paula Fleming.
