The Preschool Ministry at Joy Christian Center exists to provide a loving, peaceful, and safe learning environment along with excellence in teaching the Word to our children.   Our vision is to share with the children what the Bible says about Jesus Christ and enable them to establish their relationship with God by knowing Him, His Word, and His people.  Our desire is that each child would learn what the Bible means to them by studying its characters, stories, principles, and verses.

Our prayer is that each child in our care would be introduced to the love of Jesus Christ, know that Jesus loves him/her totally and provides for every need; learn that church can be a fun place for them, accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, and feel the love of Jesus Christ through all persons caring for them while in the Infant Classroom.

The Nursery 1 (birth-18 months) and Nursery 2 (ages 18 months to 3 years) programs are designed to help children become aware of the love of Jesus by meeting their spiritual needs as well as their physical needs.  A structured teaching program has been established to minister to each child at every level from the moment of birth.  We desire to give even the youngest children the opportunity to praise the Lord who has so miraculously created them.  Matthew 21:16 (KJV) Out of mouths of babes and sucklings the Lord hath perfected praise.

The KinderChurch 1 (3 to 5 years) and KinderChurch 2 (5 years to Grade 1) programs minister the Gospel to children in a loving setting in accordance with Proverbs 22:6 (NIV)  Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not turn from it.  Structured teaching programs teach children Bible principles and basic Christian truths through four areas of ministry:  praise and worship, Bible stories, crafts, and puppet skits.

The preschool team members hold the following beliefs about children:

• Children are a gift from God.  Psalm 127:3
• Children have an important part to play in the plan of God.  1 Samuel 17, Isaiah 8:18
• Jesus cared for the children and so should we.  Matthew 10:42
• Parents and the church are instructed to train up children.  Proverbs 22:6, Matthew 28:20
  
• Children can be born again and filled with the Holy Spirit.  Acts 2:17
