We were both raised with families who love us and believe in God.  But when it came to

going to Sunday school and learning about the greatness of God, we felt like we didn’t

understand much.  Our lives stayed like that for a long time.  We didn’t know it at the time, but God had a plan for us.  We both believe that we met for a reason, got married for a reason, and will be together for a reason because God chose it for us.  He has helped us overcome many problems.  We didn’t know it at the time, but He was our strength when we overcame our addictions.  We look back now, and it’s amazing - everything that we have been through.

We started coming to Joy in September of last year.  Before then, we were just living life, worried about nothing but ourselves.  We had been invited to church many times, but always declined.  In July of 2002, we were blessed with the purchase of our house and both thanked the Lord for it, but still we stayed on the same path in our lives.  Then in September, Scott found a car – not just any car, but the one he had always wanted – a corvette.

That was the beginning of a wonderful journey.  Somehow that car has changed our lives.  The Lord does work in wonderful ways!!  The next week, Perry, Donna, and Jared invited us to Joy once again and this time we both said yes.

We have overcome so many problems in just six weeks.  Little things don’t seem to be such a big problem any more.  Our relationship is much stronger.  We thank God for everything we have and for His love.  We had the joy of attending Safe at H.O.M.E., making friends at Fall Fun Fest, and attending a Heartbeats group.  On Easter Sunday, we had the honor of greeting our Joy Christian Center family as they came to church.  We thank God for our church, Pastor Brian, and our family at Joy.

We can’t wait to see what’s next in God’s plan for us!!  ~  Scott & April
